Overcoming Negativity

If you are like me, you may have already prepared yourself before starting this commentary for another ‘you should’ explanation on how by becoming the observer of your thoughts, vs identifying yourself as being part and the same as your thoughts, you can move beyond negativity. To be clear, negativity as an influence to deal with comes from both within and external sources. There’s some merit to the solution above and in a sense I suppose one can separate ones self from reactivity to internal and external negative stimulus.

But it’s a painful state of existence to be playing escape from our thoughts and the information coming at us around us all the time. By chance, as I happen to be a sensitive being prone to hurtful reactivity from negativity, I came upon a realization that by doing small good gestures, I could move beyond these hurtful emotions and strengthen my own sense of being.

The lesson here is that next time you are feeling negative internal energy, or feel hurt by someone, or feel overwhelmed by the sense of negativity in the world, when you feel able to, just do something nice. Then keep doing nice things and next thing you know, the world might just change around you to also seem like a really nice place. It did for me!
